COMPETITION FORMAT
POOL PLAY RULES
  • Official game will end at 7 innings or 1 hour 20 minutes
  • The inning being played at the expiration of time will be completed
  • No new inning will be begin after time has expired
  • Games tied at completion of last inning will end in a tie
  • Unlimited defensive substitutions
  • Teams may bat as many batters as they want but must finish with the numbers of batters they started with (shorthanded rule applies).
  • A courtesy runner for the pitcher/catcher can be used in accordance with ASA rules or the last batted. If the last batted out is a pitcher or catcher the batter prior can be used.
  • Home team will be determined by coin flip at home plate prior to start of game
BRACKET PLAY RULES
  • Official game will end at 7 innings or 1 hour 20 minutes
  • Games tied at completion of last inning will begin international tie breaker
  • Unlimited defensive substitutions
  • Teams may bat as many batters as they want but must finish with the numbers of batters they started with (shorthanded rule applies).
  • A courtesy runner for the pitcher/catcher can be used in accordance with ASA rules or the last batted. If the last batted out is a pitcher or catcher the batter prior can be used.
  • Home team will be determined by higher seed. If both teams are same seed coin flip at home plate prior to start of game


MERCHANDISE
2023 Virginia Commonwealth Games merchandise will be available for purchase during events at various locations and online.

AWARDS
2023 Virginia Commonwealth Games bronze, silver and gold medals will be given in each category/division
